Today's Passage: 2 Thessalonians 3

These verses are such good counsel for all believers.  Although the commands that Paul gives in these verses may sound a lot like common sense or simply just good advice.  We need to understand that Paul was lead by God to write this letter to coach a group of believers how to handle disunity among themselves.  Paul hadn't come up with a brand new way of doing things this was just the first time the Thessalonians had heard it.

So what makes these commands so special?   What makes them any more than just good advice?   Well the Thessalonians already displayed a desire to stand up for what God commanded so they just needed His official direction in this situation.  So what was it?  Be patient, keep a safe distance from those who are unruly, follow the example of Christ while setting the example yourself, don't grow weary of doing what is right and never write people off.

If this had been the action plan for every believer since Jesus, can you imagine how much glory God could have received?  I not only want my life to measure up to these command I want others around me to be inspired to do the same.  How about you?
