Today's Passage: Genesis 15

This chapter is so cool to me because we get to read the covenant that God made with Abram, then we get to read the details on how God planned to fulfill His promise and then we can flip to Exodus and read how God worked through Moses and Arron to make it all true.

Even in our best laid plans there are still variables that we can't control.  We can plan everything out but we can't predict exactly how others involved will act or react.  God on the other hand can plan down to the most minute detail, because well... He's in control of everything.  This should bring us great comfort because no matter what is going on in our life right now, as long as we are pursuing God, it's all part of God's plan.  Abram's road after this passage wasn't all wine and roses, but God was in control and leading him right where he was suppose to be.

This is absolutely true for us today.  It may be hard to believe or see sometimes, but if God is our desire and purpose then every situation we find ourselves in is part of His purpose for our lives.  Can you think of anything that is more reassuring or fulfilling than to know that the God of the universe that loves you is in control? Yea me either!
