Today's Passage: 1 Chronicles 25-26
As somebody who possesses no natural organizational skills, I always find it so interesting to read passages like this containing such brilliant structure. We expect that armies and other civil offices would follow a determined structure, but here we read of even the musicians following a certain system. And we see this type of organizing throughout Scripture, indicating the way in which God determined things get done. Even though these chapters seem to simply list names upon names, we can learn much about the nature of God!
God is a God of structure and organization...but we know that He is also artistic and creative...and relational and loving! It never fails to amaze me that God, the creator of the universe and sustainer of life, wants to have a personal relationship with me. As much as this amazes me, however, how often do I take full advantage of it and just sit at his feet? I do enjoy this personal relationship with Him, but too often I allow other things to replace that time with Him.
