Today's Passage: Acts 25
What and awesome testimony Paul's actions are giving us here! Paul is preaching the word while obeying the law and when he is faced with persecution he holds his head higher. He even gives himself over to the proper punishment if the court finds him guilty of breaking a law. His confidence to some might come across cavalier or arrogant but he is merely acting out his faith in God.
When we truly embrace God as the creator of all things and the source of truth then it should become much easier to stand confidently against the things that are wrong in the world. Paul isn't mean or return and accusation in how he addresses his accusers. He instead proclaims his case clearly and in a way that informs everyone present that he knows his rights.
Our great nation was founded on many things and one of those is religious freedom. We have the right to share the good news of Christ with anyone that wishes to listen. But we must be sure to have scripture as our one and only source of what we proclaim. When we add our own opinion we weaken God's truth.
So stand firm and be confident because God is in control, but in that same way be sure that it is His word that you are standing for.
