Today's Passage: Psalm 110-112
The first chapter we read fills us with hope and confidence in the power of our Lord as it paints a mighty picture of His sovereignty. One day the enemy will be judged and the wicked defeated. Yes, we serve a loving and gracious God but we also serve a God who doesn't play around. Understand this: He judges those who oppose His power and shames those who contradict His holiness.
But do not be afraid. There is a definable difference between the fear of God and being afraid of God. We must respect (aka fear) the power of our God but never be afraid for we are under His grace. In Psalm 111:4 &5 we read, "He has caused His wondrous works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful. He provides for those who fear Him; He remembers His covenant forever." We live according to the Grace of the covenant established through our Savior Jesus Christ.
Our God is to be feared and His grace is upon those who fear Him. "Blessed is the man who fears the Lord"
