Today's Passage: Acts 24
Paul walked according to the greatest and only purpose there is—to bring glory and honor to God. This walk, this exercise, equipped him with the strength to endure great hardship. So much so, that he even went the extra mile and administered the truth of the gospel to the very person who wrongfully imprisoned him.
Which brings us to Felix, a man who knowing the truth still walked in the darkness. Now, it is very easy to scorn Felix but let us instead look upon his foolishness as a warning. Felix knew the truth and yet refused to submit to it. He knew that Paul was innocent and yet, to protect his own skin, still kept him prisoner. How many times have we seen a need and failed to fill it? How many times have we retained sin and failed to eliminate it? How many times have we known a truth and not acted upon it? This, my brother's and sister's in Christ, is direct disobedience to our heavenly Father.
So, be warned and yet be encouraged. If we have heard the truth and understood the truth, let us walk in that truth. For His word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105) and if we travel along that brilliantly illuminated way, we will surely not fall.
