Today's Passage: 1 Corinthians 13

Here, we see the attributes of love clearly displayed. We see what love is and what love is not. When I read what love truly is, I think: how can I possibly love like this? Then I survey the deep, dark intentions of my own heart and I know: there is no way. This is the disappointing truth—I cannot love. This is the glorious grace of God—He can perfect love in me!

"For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known." (1 Corinthians 13:12)

On this earth, I am prevented from administering true love by my flesh. However, I am enabled to truly love when I am dependent on the power of the Holy Spirit. Do I fail in this everyday? Yes, but that is because I have not yet been made perfect. I am clean in the eyes of God because of Jesus Christ but I am still learning how to walk in His perfection.

Oh, how I look forward to that day of perfection when we no longer wrestle with sin! Be encouraged and live for that Day of eternity; depend on the power of the Holy Spirit to radiate the love of Jesus Christ to those who live darkness. For our love will fail but God's love is forever strong.
