Today's Passage: 2 Corinthians 7

As the church we should be filled with joy when people are motivated into action.  I think we have too often become focused on what we are not suppose to do when God is far more concerned with what we should be doing.

I share with our students regularly that there are two typical ways that we respond to mistakes and disobedience in our lives. They are regret and repentance.  The difference is with regret we turn inward and think "poor pitiful me", but with repentance we are motivated to make things right in the situation.  Whether it's removing ourselves from the situation, setting up a plan to protect ourselves or simply apologizing it makes God happy when His children choose action over self loathing.

Are you feeling regret over something today?  Have you stopped and asked what it would take to make things right.  In most cases however you just answered is what God is calling you to do.  I pray that God would bless you with a spirit of repentance today.  I also pray that He would give you a clear plan for what you need to do.  God is glorified when we humble ourselves and we as the church should be over joyed when others choose humility in action.
