Today's Passage: Galatians 1

How quickly deceit creeps in and pollutes our perspective of God's Holy Word. Paul expresses great sorrow upon hearing that the churches of Galatia had turned from the true gospel and settled for a distorted version. So much so, that he recounts his learning of the gospel directly from the Son of God, emphasizing it's authenticity and describing the near solitude He underwent in order to maintain the purity of what he preached.

We must understand that anything, pertaining to the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Holy Scripture, must never be subjected to man's ideas and opinions. Not that we cannot make spirit-led and educated conclusions but these must be tested with the scripture. The same goes for when we are under any teacher or preacher. Paul says, "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed," and again he emphasizes it in the next verse. The Scripture is HOLY! We should never feel liberty to add or take away from scripture and let those who do be accursed.

"For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man?If I were sill trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ."  Galatians 1:10
