Today's Passage: Acts 10
"... but in every nation anyone who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him." (Acts 10:35)
PRAISE GOD! We are acceptable before the Lord. This is our anthem of joy! But how often we forget that people have not always been allowed access to God Himself. Not always has man been able to commune with the creator and the sustainer of his soul without animal sacrifice and strict obedience to the Jewish law. But rejoice, the veil has been torn and we are a new creation in Jesus Christ. We stand before God spotless and acceptable. And to top that off, God has poured out abundantly the gift of His Holy Spirit upon us.
Not only are we clean, but we have power in the Holy Spirit! The faces of the circumcised were astonished that even the Gentiles were bestowed with this gift (Acts 10:45). Peter declares, "Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people?" (Acts 10:47). Can anyone withhold from the children of God what is their inheritance? No! We have the privilege to know God and make Him known. We have the honor to declare the unmatchable gift of freedom, power, and perfect love. We have the right to declare our anthem of joy.
