Today's Passage: Psalm 1-3

Here, David declares how God sustained him and protected him. We see him seeking and crying out to God and for most of us, it's not hard to call upon the name of God when we're in a great trial and we should. However, it is hard for us to call upon His name on a daily basis without ceasing but, we must be that tree planted by streams of water! Dependent on the one true source of life, this means COMPLETE surrender. No holding back. It's His will or it's your will. We may wrestle with God when our human nature wants control but in the end, we must submit to the almighty God no matter how difficult that may be.

Some may ask, "why should I submit? Didn't God give us a free will?" Yes, He did give us a free will. And christian, did you not choose Christ? It's not a one time deal. We must all seek His will on a daily basis or else we become "like the chaff that the wind drives away," dry and useless. So, how do we become like the tree planted by streams of water? The answer is in the text. Delight in the law of the Lord, and on his law meditate day and night. And in all that you do, He will make you prosper. Just as we delight in the Lord, He will delight in us.

You are right, it is so easy for us to cry out to God in our distress and to seek Him fervently when we are desperet. As Christians, we should be calling on His beautiful name in prayer, praise, and worship. He is our Father and as His children we ought to be in communication to Him. What kind of relationship is it if we don't even talk to our earthly parents? The same is with our heavenly Father who cares for us. You are right in saying we need to delight in the Law of the LORD and meditate on it day and night just as Holy Scripture says. It by His Holy Word do we find Him talking to us, it by His Word that He teaches us. Glory to Him whose throne is heaven and whose foot-stool is the earth. Laura, I give a harty AMEN + a Hallelujah.
