Today's Passage: 1 Thessalonians 2
The verse in this passage that seem to just jump out at me was verse 13:
And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God,
which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is,
the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.
It may not seem like much of a life altering verse. But stop and think... What is it that causes the change in us when we become believers? The Holy Spirit, right? What does the Holy Spirit use to communicate who God is? God's Word of coarse! So as trivial as this verse may appear. It communicates how important God's Word is to our ongoing relationship with Christ. Just as the end of verse 13 says "the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe."
Being In God's Word on a regular basis is crucial to our relationship with Christ. It's what the Spirit uses to change us from the inside out.
