Today's Passage: John 11

I love that this week as we celebrate Easter we are also reading the events leading up to the last supper.  For me the story of Lazarus is one of the greatest encouragement stories for anyone facing and illness or hardship.  Whether it truly is an illness that the doctors say will lead to death or a life situation that seems to have no solution or way out.  God gives us in these verses the coolest picture of why he might allow things like this to happen in our lives.

John 11:4 says: When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”  Now we don't get the confirmation from Jesus' lips that we will make it out the other side like Lazarus, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't live like it.  Our primary concern in life should be to bring God praise.  However, if we face hard times, even death, like God can't over come them. Then we are telling everyone around us that we don't really trust God.  The truth is He can overcome anything if it's for His glory.  We prove to Him that He will get that glory by living our life like an arrow pointing to Him.  If we do this even in the good times when most people forget about God.  Then it will be easier for God to be glorified in our tough times.

It's important to remember that God doesn't promise an easy road if we follow Him.  What He does promise is LIFE to the fullest!
