Today's Passage:  2 Timothy 4

As Paul wraps up this letter to Timothy, he leaves him with a final charge:  Be ready to preach the word.  Be ready when it seems like you should (in season) and when you don't even think you'll need to or have opportunity (out of season).  Be careful how you do it, so that you are gentle with people.  There is a time coming when people will be easily distracted by false truth, so you must be ready to share the truth of God with them.  Be ready.

Sounds a lot like today, doesn't it?  In a time where the media constantly tells people lies about who they are and what they should want, there must be people who are ready to share the truth of scripture.  It must be shared gently and with wisdom...but it must be shared.  People need to hear the hope that is only found in Jesus Christ and His death on the cross. 

Are you ready to share God's Word with the people around you...people looking for hope and purpose?  Ask God to show you today where truth needs to be shared with gentleness and wisdom!
