Today's Passage: Acts 3

Have you been instrumental in someone's healing? You can be. In today's passage, Peter and John passed by a man lame from birth on their way to prayer. After they proclaim healing to him in the name of the Messiah, the man walked for the first time in his life.

The people were so amazed they began to gather around Peter and John to see what these two men were about. Peter used the opportunity to preach the Gospel to them, teaching them that they had witnessed the power of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob fulfilled through Jesus Christ.

Peter made an important distinction in his message. It was not Peter's faith or the faith of the lame man that healed him. It was the faith that comes through Him (Jesus Christ) that healed the man lame from birth. (Acts 3:16).

We are often reluctant to pray for people with "big needs" because they seem impossible or we think we need faith to believe. All we need is faith in the One who can: the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
