Today's Passage: Mark 8

The company we keep... would we describe them as a glass half full or a glass half empty?  Are you good company?

In Mark 8, Jesus is asked by the Pharisees for a sign from heaven to test him.  His response is that no sign would be given.  It would not have done any good, as they were not interested in believing He was the Messiah. (Their glass was not even half full).

Jesus warns his disciples to avoid the leaven of the Pharisees (Mark 8:15), which in this context can mean a little evil can corrupt the whole.  This leaven is unbelief, which will be proven out as the Pharisees deny the resurrection later on.

We all have doubts about one thing or another at certain times.  Pray His Holy Spirit will increase your faith to approach life today with good leaven... and that your "glass" will be more than half full.  What is it you are believing for today?  Remember He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)
