Today's Passage: Romans 5
Have you ever needed to drive to certain store but didn't know where it was? For those of you that know me well, this is a constant problem for me. See, I'm what you would call 'directionally challenged.' So when my wife asks me to go to a specific store in town, there is a question from me that is soon to follow, "How do I get there?" Because of my issues I will ask that question and have my wife repeat the directions many, many times.
While going to a store may seem significant, there are much bigger issues in life. One of the great questions in life is who is God? Then following that we ask how do we get to God? There's good and bad news in how to get to God? Bad news first, we simply cannot get ourselves to God. It is not in our capacity to make ourselves right before God. Alright bad news done, good news on the way. We can get right with God! It is by His Son!
The Apostle Paul writes passionately about the power of Christ to bring us to God. The only answer to 'how do I get to God?' is Christ Jesus. For some of us, we just need to remind ourselves of that relationship with God and give thanks for it. Others need to accept the grace that is extended to humanity through Christ.
