Today's Passage: Psalms 51-53
What do you do when you know you have done something wrong? Do you try to ignore it? Do you tell a friend? There are quite a few times when I have said things that I should not. I specifically remember when I said way too much at the wrong time to a dear friend. As soon as it happened, I knew I did something wrong. Before I went to apologize to my friend, God and I had a nice conversation about what happened. I went to God because I knew only he could right the situation. I went to God in a time of my mistake. So again, where you go when you have done something wrong?
David committed a serious sin. He was confronted by Nathan for the purpose of dealing with that sin. It is after this that Psalm 51 comes to life. David pours out to God and begs for his mercy and grace. David knew only God could handle his sin. We must be in the habit of going to our Creator to care for our soul. What a great opportunity we have! Let's go to him with messy lives and let him clean us up.
