Today's Passage: Mark 1

Have you ever stood on a sandy beach or in loose dry dirt where you drew a line with a stick and dared someone to cross over it?   Having the line there creates an enticement for someone to cross it, even just to see what the consequences will be.

To live a fulfilled and vibrant walk with Christ, boundaries must be set and kept.  Mark 1 starts an almost motion picture account of Jesus' ministry and the many miracles He performed.  Yet even with His demanding schedule, Mark 1:35 states that He rose early and went to a solitary place to pray.  When the disciples came looking for him, they said, "Everyone is looking for you."  Did Jesus say, "Oh, sorry about that; let's get back to town."?  No, Jesus had a set purpose in mind, and this time, it was to move on to other towns.

Jesus did not let others determine His Father's business for His life.  We cannot walk around with visible boundaries for our time and talents.  However, they must be very visible and clear to us, for when they are invaded, the consequences should not be that we treat those boundaries as non-existent.  If some of the boundaries you set early in the year are being invaded, take them back.
