Today's Passage: Nehemiah 11
Have you ever been sitting in a room and realized that every person around you is completely different from one another? You may notice the different personalities, mannerisms, perhaps even the skills or character traits of those in your surrounding environment. Everyone is different and everyone is created to do something differently with their lives. This passage in Nehemiah deals with the leaders of the people moving to Jerusalem. Each group of significance sent representatives to Jerusalem as the rebuilding and revival was taking place.
Through this Scripture we are reminded of the importance of each group during the revival period of Israel. In the same way, we should recognize the significance of groups and skills in the local church (i.e. Bear Creek). We set up ministries and appoint leaders within our context. Each of us has a set a skills and gifts that can benefit the church and ourselves. As we approach 2010, we should look toward continue ministries in ways that use gifts and skills of all people. Israel set up leaders and started groups so that revival could start. Bear Creek needs revival and renewal as we seek to grow in 2010. The only way this can happen is by relying on God and set up appropriate ministries and leaders. As we do this, I pray that you will reengage in the ministry of Bear Creek with passion and vigor. We owe God our best and we have another year to give Him all the glory.
