Today's Passage: Ephesians 5
What roles should we have? No, I'm not talking about movies or plays, but what we are responsible for in this life. This Scripture reading today is part of the most controversial topics in the Bible: the relationship of men and women. Depending on how we are raised, what schools we go to, and the company we keep, our thoughts about this issue become varied and possibly heated. However, no matter where you stand on this issue, there is one aspect of the Scripture that none of us can escape . . Love!
We are creatively designed to love one another. We are all wanting to be loved, but rarely do we want to put in the effort to love others. God wants us to use our responsibilities and roles to show others how we love them. Love is the simple act of selflessly serving someone. Alright so the definition is easy, but the delivery is officially not. Think about this for a moment . . .Are you putting in time and effort to love those around you? Above all things, all responsibilities, and all desires are you intentionally showing love to other people? A really simple yet scary way to find out is to ask those around you that will give you an honest answer how you are doing in loving them.
