Today's Passage: Psalm 103-104
I am always amazed at Psalm 104. In fact, it really hit home to me when we were in Puerto Rico and I was sitting on the beach and in the rain forest, just looking around at all the things that God made that we don't get to see in Texas. I was just literally amazed at how God could do it...I mean, he made it ALL. Psalm 104:24 says "How many are your works, O LORD! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creature." Sometimes I wonder why God made things like mosquitoes and roaches and then I remember a verse like this. It reminds me that God has such a purpose for all He does. He didn't accidentally create the mosquito. There is a reason it is here (one i may not understand while on this earth) and there is a purpose for it among creation as a whole.
And then I think about me...little, bit me. I think I'm really big and important most the time and then I'm hit with this chapter. Goodness. How tiny am I? I am one among many creations. And yet, God has a purpose for me and I know that He has a purpose for you too. Everything God has done is in wisdom and is not an accident. So, like the psalmist, let us sing praises to God for as long as we live and praise him with all our soul.
