Today's Passage Mark 3
Have you ever read a passage of the Bible and just been amazed and some of the things that people do? Take the Pharisees of the first 6 verses for example. They were watching Jesus to see if he would heal on the Sabbath so they could make accusations against him. It seems more logical to be amazed that someone had the power to heal someone instantly no matter what day it was. Brett preached a wonderful message about the Sabbath a few weeks before this (available on the website). They were missing the point entirely. In John 3:2 we see one Pharisee that gets it. Nicodemus said that he knew that Jesus was sent by God because the miracles he did were evidence of it. The Pharisees in Mark 3 were so bent out of shape about their calendar that they were missing the fact that evidence of Jesus as the Son of God, the Messiah, was being laid out right in front of them. We have to be careful to not be so concerned about personal views and hang-ups that we miss what God is displaying around us. Spend time with God, go to him in prayer, search the scriptures and keep you heart open to him.
