Today's Passage: Revelation 6
As we read Revelation 6 it is clear that there is a lot of punishment being poured out as each seal is opened. But in verse 9 we see a seal that stands alone. Instead of war, removal of peace, world conquest, economic disparity, famines and plagues we have martyred saints asking God when they were going to have justice.
There are a couple of things to point out here. The first is that they were not asking IF they were going to get justice, they were asking when. They believed that God was going to make things right. God is a God of love, but he is also a God of justice. He is always going to do what is best, right, and fair.
The second thing to point out if how God responded to them. They were given a white robe and asked to wait. These were people that died for the sake of God's message tot he world and God understood their frustrations. He gives them robes as if he were saying, "it is not time yet; but just remember that I love you and have not forgotten about you."
It can be easy in the midst of frustrating times to think that God has forgotten about you and your circumstances. Please remember that we serve a God that has never broken a promise and never will. One of those promises is found in Hebrews 13:5 where he promises to never leave or abandon us.
