Today's Passage: Isaiah 43-44
When reading chapter 43, I was struck by the title to one of the sections of the chapter: God's Mercy and Israel's Unfaithfulness. I know this title was not a part of the original book of Isaiah, but the stark contrast between the two really stood out to me. So I went back and reread that part of the chapter. God is recounting for his people the things that he has done for them to protect them and to make a way for them and yet Israel did not obey the Lord and worship him as they should. Sometimes we get really harsh on the Israelites and think that if we were in their shoes we would never have done that. But think about your life now...don't we do that all the time? God is protecting us, making a way for us. Do we always follow him like we should? Are we the best example to others of who God is and how much he cares for his children? As you go through your day today, think about that. Are you living your life in the best way so that your example to others shows an accurate picture of who God is? If not, don't be like the Israelites. Don't ignore God and what he has done for you.
