Today's Passage: Revelation 6

"Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.  They called to the mountains and the rocks, 'Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?'" (vs. 15-17)  This is a sobering fulfillment of prophecy from Malachi 3:2, "But who can endure the day of His coming? Who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire..."  There really will be a day when He comes to judge, when it will be too late to say you want to become a Christian.  There will be a day of wrath.  Are you ready?

As real as the judgement of God is, the grace of God is just as real. The beautiful truth is that "...your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish." (Matthew 18:14).  The ugly truth is that we (those who remained unsaved) are willing to perish.  All because we refuse to believe His Word, His Son, and we refuse to submit to Him as, "...the way, the truth and the life..." (John 14:6). We think we're smarter, more enlightened, or we think we'll all get to heaven.  If that's not bad enough, the uglier truth is that I'm willing to let people go to hell with no protest, no debate, no expression of love or concern.  While I'm afraid of looking foolish or not having the right argument, people are dying without Christ.  While I'm too busy trying to manage my own life, the lost are hastening toward eternal separation from God -am I willing to do anything to help them?

"Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts."  Hebrews 4:7

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling for you and for me
See on the portals He is waiting and watching
watching for you and for me

...earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling,
calling, "Oh sinner, come home"
