Today's Passage: Psalm 134-136
In Experiencing God, Henry Blackaby writes about the importance of spiritual markers. Spiritual markers are significant occurrences in your walk with Christ. They may be times that decisions were made, they may be specific moments of encouragement, or of clarity and enlightenment. These are important because there are times when the walk gets rough, steep, and treacherous. Remembering these spiritual markers helps encourage us to keep moving forward in the tough, dry times. These Psalms served this same purpose. They were a record of praise and thanksgiving for all that God had done for them thus far. The Psalms also bring us into a deeper knowledge of the identity of God and His characteristics. Isn't that cool? As we remember what God has done and praise Him, we are drawn into who He is even more!
If you're having trouble praising God, just think about what He has done for you. If that is also difficult, then read these Psalms and thank Him for what is written in them!
