Today's passage: Psalm 98-99
What do we do when the home team makes an incredible touchdown in the last seconds of the game to clench the victory? Jump up and down, scream and yell, give everyone (people we may not even know) a high five and maybe even a hug. When I saw Texas beat Michigan in the 2005 Rose Bowl in the last seconds with a field goal, that's exactly what I did! Why do we respond this way? Because we can't keep it inside, because we don't really enjoy the moment until we express it in this way. More than that, God made us to express ourselves, and He did so we could live in relationship with Him! That's what we see in these Psalms. The psalmist is so full of the awesomeness of God that he has to let it out in praise! Do we live our lives this way? Are we so full of God and what He has done that we have to let it out in praise and thanksgiving? If we aren't, we are missing out on some real blessings!
