Today's Passage: Revelation 11
How do you respond to Revelation in general? Are you overwhelmed? frightened? intrigued by the mysteries and language? This book of the bible is full of pictures and prophecies, many of which we may never fully understand. The real question is, "How do you respond to the revelation of Jesus Christ?" I heard the recalling of a conversation on the radio recently that said, "You can be right, and I can be right in the contexts of our own beliefs, isn't that great?!?" NOTHING could be further from the TRUTH! In the midst of today's political correctness and tolerance at all costs, the Truth still remains, Jesus Christ. The two witnesses here are witnesses of this Truth, who said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but by Me." The issue of tolerance and the idea of "can't we all just get along" (relativism) is nothing new. Christ addressed this very issue in Matthew10:33-35:
“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn “‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—"
Toward the end of the chapter, we find the text that Handel used in the Hallelujah Chorus :
"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign for ever and ever."(vs.15)
God wins!!! and because He wins, we win!!! That must be why Handel put it in the HALLELUJAH Chorus!
These things will come to pass. Are you ready? Have you made the decision for yourself that Christ is Lord of your life? If you have, are you concerned with helping those around you to make that same decision? Share with someone today!
