Today's Passage: Job 11-12

Have you ever had friends who really didn't act like your friends?  When it came to a struggle or tragedy in your life did they only offer advice, their view of the situation, or even condemnation of your circumstances?  This is basically what Job is going through in chapters 11-12.

Have you ever been the friend who at one time or another didn't act like a friend?  Maybe you failed to put yourself in their shoes.  Maybe you were so convinced that you knew what your friend needed to hear that you forgot to stop and consider their feelings. Maybe you spoke with the best intentions, but ended up hurting someone's feelings anyway.

Galatians 6:2 says, "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."  Christ said to "love one another," and to, "love your neighbor as yourself."  These are wonderful commands that we probably all agree on their importance.  We might could say that we all want to obey them on some level. However, we all know stories of Christians "shooting their own wounded," or "kicking someone when they're already down."  Let's all recommit to loving one another the way Christ has loved each one of us!
