Today's passage:  Acts 3

 Do we take the power of the name of Jesus for granted?  Peter's second sermon flows right out of this miracle of healing.  In the midst of peoples astonishment over what has happened to this man, Peter quickly moves the focus to Jesus, and His name!

"It is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all." (v.16)

"The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and they are saved." (Prov. 18:10)

"May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!" (Psalm 20:1)

 One of my favorite songs of the last 10 years is all about the power of His name.  Here's the lyrics of the first verse:

 Jesus Your name is power, Jesus Your name is might, Jesus Your name will break ev'ry stronghold, Jesus Your name is life.
