Today's Passage:  2 Corinthians 7

"Sorrow" is not a word that is used much anymore, but when it is, we use it to convey a sadness beyond normal.  The weight of the word sorrow is that we are overcome with sadness...that it's almost too much to bear.  I can often find things that make me sad, but there are very few times I can remember being overcome with sorrow.

That's what makes this passage so interesting to me...that we should long for Godly sorrow...or at least, see the benefit.  When we sin, the feeling of disappointment and regret should overcome us to the point that it makes us desire to change.  This is conviction, as the Holy Spirit is speaking to us and letting us know that our action is far less than God's standard.  It is this kind of repentance that can lead to real change in our lives.

Does sin lead you to sorrow, or are you just a little sad and move on....or worse, does sin do nothing at all?  Let us pray for the sorrow that can lead to real repentance.
