Today's Passage:  Exodus 24

Moses got to experience some pretty incredible things in his life.  He spoke to God in the form of a burning bush.  He held up his hands and, through the power of God, the Red Sea parted.  He led a group through the desert, feasting on the provision of God each day.  But in chapter 24, he gets to do something amazing...maybe even greater than these...by getting to spend 40 days and 40 nights inside the glory of the Lord.

Can you imagine what that must have been like?  He sat at the feet of the Lord day by day, learning about obedience directly from Him.  He talked with God as if they were friends...as if he was a student of the master...as a Father teaches his son.  If I get to spend any time with Moses in heaven, one of the things I'd ask is what these 40 days were like!

And yet, I don't have to imagine...the glory of the Lord now dwells inside the believer!  Through the Holy Spirit, we don't have to go to the mountaintop, because God has come to us.  We can sit at His feet...talk to Him as a child does his Father...learn about obedience through His Word.  What an amazing privilege that we so quickly take for granted...that the God of the universe walks each day with me.

As we end one year and begin another, one of the best resolutions you could make is to not take for granted the presence of God in your life.  Spend time each day talking, learning, and growing with the Father!

Bill, glad to see you back again. I, like you, took heart in the passage. Would he tell us to be strnog and courageous if He thought we couldn't? He sees us, most times, as far better and strnoger than we view ourselves. Thanks for the word. And brother, be encouraged! You touch many lives with your heart for Kingdom growth and fellowship.
