What's your purpose? Why were you put here? When Bear Creek was founded in April of 2003, we knew it was for a reason...we wanted to create a community of believers that were real with each other and with the world. People crave authenticity from a church and its leaders, and we strive to be open and honest about who we are, the struggles we face, and the hope we have in Christ. We wanted to create a community of believers that have one purpose...to know Him and to make Him known. We knew that none of this would be possible without the "incomparably great power" of God.

In January of 2005, our pastor and staff challenged our church with the mission of being "4 the One". For the one in our neighborhood who is struggling with the demands of work and family without the hope of Christ. For the one who is a co-worker and needs a friend. For the ones in our community who need shelter, food, or warm clothes. For the one who doesn't look like us or act like us. For the one who does not know the mercy of Christ.

This means that our church is placing a priority on reaching out before reaching in. We're more concerned about the one who is yet to come than the one who is already here. It doesn't mean we neglect each other...our church has a wonderful sense of community. It doesn't mean we neglect our spiritual needs...our church provides several intentional opportunities for growing closer to "The One". It means that we are here to serve, to share, and to create a fellowship of believers that desperately desire to see people come to know Christ. Those who are without Christ are our passion. We exist 4 the One.
