Today's Passage: Exodus 26
Did the Israelites feel the Lord's anointing power when they created the articles for the Tabernacle? Today's chapter is the description the Lord gives them on exactly how to construct the Tabernacle. It is very detailed and very exact in its requirements. But God is never picky without a purpose.
Interestingly, the many components required for the building of the Tabernacle would use every skill the children of Israel had among them. The Lord would not let materials or skills acquired in Egypt to go to waste (His economy is perfect). They would need those skilled with wood, metal, fabric, animal hides, and construction, just to name a few. The Lord anointed their work to accomplish the task. That is what He does when He asks us to do something.
So there are two important "take aways" here:
1) Make sure you are doing what the Lord is asking you to. This is different from signing up for something you thought was a good idea without consulting Him. To quote someone, "Don't ask God to bless what you're doing; do what God is blessing."
2) Know that when He has asked you to do something, He will enable you to complete it. It will probably seem beyond your ability all by yourself, and that is precisely the point. He wants to be with us, for us, and in us. He is not a spectator. Have confidence that He is with you.
May you follow His will today in perfect and exact obedience.
