Today's Passage: 2 Chronicles 15-16
I think the heart of these two passages can be summed up by verse 15:3: "The LORD is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be
found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you." This was the story of the kings of Israel...when they were seeking God, He was easily found by them. They would have prosperity and peace. When they sought something else, then the whole land would suffer because of their disobedience. From the outsider's perspective, it seems like such an easy choice to make. Why would anyone choose to suffer by turning their back on God?
Why, then, would we choose to turn to sin and turn our backs as well? Over and over in scripture, God says if we will seek Him we will find Him. Over and over God tells us that when we obey Him we will see blessings in our life. Over and over God tells us that if we reject His ways our life will be very difficult. Why, then, would we choose sin knowing these things?
Asa turned his heart to God and prospered. Will we turn our hearts to God in the same manner?
