Today's Passage: Esther 9-10
What if you hadn't read the beginning eight chapters of Esther? What if this is all you knew of the story...that the Jews one day rose up and defeated their enemies so soundly that they held a feast to remember the day? Most likely, we'd think that the Jews were very powerful and organized, or that they were extremely lucky...this story would be a footnote at best in history. The Jews would get the credit and we'd all move forward.
But the first eight chapters make the story very clear: The Jews were weak, threatened, and really without any hope of survival. It took an act of God through the obedience of Esther and Mordecai to turn a hopeless situation into the one we read about today. It is God who gets all the credit...we read these verses thinking about just how far He has taken them in a short time.
If you are in the middle of a rough time or a hopeless situation right now, look to God for the help you need! He may have you here now so that one day you will be able to testify just how far He brought you.
