The preschool ministry at Bear Creek believes that an important spiritual foundation is laid during the earliest years. We don't just provide quality, safe childcare...we teach our children, even from the youngest class, how much Jesus loves them. Through centers, group time, music and other creative methods, our preschoolers learn about God and what He has done for us. Every teacher is carefully selected for their love of preschoolers and their ability to relate to them on their level. Each room is cleaned after each use and carefully planned for both fun and safety.

We realize that in this day and age safety is a huge issue. That's why we check in every preschooler in our atrium and give both the child and parent a matching security sticker. A child will not be released to anyone without providing the security sticker. If you have misplaced yours, we will ask to see a driver's license to prove your identity.

We also realize that infants and preschoolers have hard days sometimes and may not be in the best of moods. If your child is crying, we will not leave them to 'cry it out'...they will be comforted and assured. If your child needs special attention, we will come get you from the service. You can worship with the knowledge that not only is your child safe, but they are worshipping as well!

Preschool Activities

Sunday Bible Study - 9:45 a.m.

During our Sunday Bible Study, two classes are offered: Green Room (8 weeks – 23 months) and Red Room (2- years – pre-kindergarten). Our older preschooler class studies Bible stories through interactive lessons, crafts, and music. A safe, loving environment is provided for younger preschoolers as they learn to love God and love church at an early age.

Creek Cubs - 11:01 a.m.

While our adults are in worship, our preschoolers are carefully cared for by members of our church. Three age-specific preschool rooms provide the perfect environment for your little one to explore and build friendships: Green Room (Infants and Crawlers), Yellow Room (Walking Well – 2-years), Red Room (3-years – Pre-Kindergarten). Loving volunteers provide quality care and engage children in play.

*Sunday School teachers will be responsible for moving children into the correct rooms as we expand our childcare space to make room for more preschoolers that will join us during the worship service. We encourage parents not to stop by between Sunday School and Worship as this may upset your child or others in the class.

Wednesday Discipleship - 6:30 p.m.

Red Room (3-years – Pre-kindergarten): Stimulating activities and weekly repetition of a semester-long theme are used to help older preschoolers understand important Bible truths. Crafts, music, games, and hands-on projects help them learn important concepts about the Bible, God, and the world He created.

Yellow Room: (8-weeks – 35 months) Quality child care is provided for our younger preschoolers whose parents attend Adult Bible Study.

"Mommy and Me"

Stay-at-Home-Preschool-Moms are invited to join our group that meets monthly for a field trip or holiday party. Activities are designed to give you and your child a fun experience together and provide opportunities for friendships – both for the kids and the moms! You don’t have to attend Bear Creek to join us…everyone is welcome!

Preschool Moms/ Workers Coffee -

We know that sometimes it’s hard to have a real conversation with another adult when your preschooler is pulling on your arm, hitting your leg, interrupting your sentence… So two times a year (once in the fall, once in the spring) the preschool ministry hosts an evening coffee for preschool moms and preschool workers to meet and talk without the little ones. The relaxed environment offers a chance to meet the volunteers that care for your preschooler and build friendships with other preschool moms. A guided fellowship activity, brainstorming session, or devotional is usually also included during the evening.
