Today's Passage: Acts 21
What a guy! Sometimes when I read the story of the apostle Paul, I feel as though I'm watching a movie. By that I mean that the boldness which he displays which causes him to be in very difficult and dangerous situations (I tend to think of Gladiator when I read Paul). I always love that Paul never seems worried about what others think. He also doesn't seem concerned with what people will do to him.
Forgive the brevity and bluntness, but I would like to ask you a personal question, Do you love God enough to endure situations like Paul? I know this seems like a ridiculous and hypothetical question, but really think about it. I know you probably won't be arrested for your beliefs. However, do you care about God enough for anyone to even notice? While we both know you probably won't be hung on a cross for confessing Christianity, do people even know you have faith? If they do, how do they know that? Is it because of a bumper sticker? Or do people believe you're a Christian because they know you go to church?
I pray that people know what we believe by two actions...
1. We tell them (Matthew 28:18-20)
2. We show them through our actions (Matthew 5:14-16)
